A reminder that next Sunday is our Harvest festival. At the end of Mass we shall hold a procession of non-perishable gifts which will be blessed and then handed to local soup kitchens. We will also take a collection for CAFOD as is a long established tradition in this parish at harvest time.
Father, I may be mistaken, but your reference to collecting for CAFOD “as is a long established tradition in this parish at this time” sounds like you are less than enthusiastic about the charity and are only tolerating the collection on harvest festival to avoid upsetting your long standing parishioners. If I am right, then what’s wrong with CAFOD?
